Leah Day

Read bio

Meet Leah Day, an accomplished quilter who fell in love with the art of quilting at a young age. Growing up surrounded by hand-stitched quilts from both sides of her family, Leah learned to sew at a young age but found quilting to be a challenging skill to master. However, her determination led her to join a guild, take classes and finally create her first quilt in 2005, which sparked a lifelong passion for quilting.

With a passion for teaching and empowering quilters of all skill levels, Leah has received several awards, including MQX Teacher of the Year in 2014 and several Best Machine Quilting awards. She has authored several books, including the largest collection of quilting designs ever published, 365 Free Motion Quilting Designs, Explore Walking Foot Quilting with Leah Day, and her latest novel, Mally the Maker and the Queen in the Quilt, the first book in a quilt fantasy series for kids.
